Vincent Longo Double Swish Makeup Remover (Review)

For the past year or so my makeup remover of choice has been Neutrogena’s Make-up Remover Cleansing Towelettes. They’re affordable, work pretty well, and the convenient travel size packs are perfect for trips. However, despite my best efforts to remove every trace of mascara and eyeliner before bed, I can never seem to get it all. Sometime during the night, remnants of mascara/eyeliner seem to reappear in the form of smudges under my lower lash line. Not a big deal, but still a minor inconvenience.
HauteLook featured a beauty sale several weeks back and I decided it would be a great opportunity to try Vincent Longo’s Double Swish Makeup Remover since I was down to the last of my Neutrogena makeup remover.
Vincent Longo Double Swish Makeup Remover comes in a pump bottle; to dispense the makeup remover you simply press the pump once or twice with a cotton pad. I like this method of dispensation as it prevents using more product than you need. However, I’d feel kind of nervous if I was traveling with this in my suitcase. In fact, I wouldn’t. I would like to see the bottle updated to also twist to lock the cap in place.

Overall, I’m a fan of this product. It easily removes all traces of makeup, and there are no surprise smudges in the morning. The formula is very gentle and hypoallergenic. I wear contact lenses and I have not experienced any problems. The formula has a lightweight feel, but I have to say I slightly disagree with Vincent Longo’s claim of a “non-greasy texture.” That being said, the slick feeling texture is minimal and dissipates quickly after use.
Here is a complete breakdown of my experience with Vincent Longo Double Swish Makeup Remover.

Mani Monday: CND Shellac Combos – Beau + Moonlight & Roses

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We attended an absolutely gorgeous wedding at the picturesque Darby House. The weather couldn’t have been better, the ceremony was beautiful, and to top it off, it all took place before a stunning lake backdrop.
In preparation for the wedding, my of-late neglected nails were in desperate need of some love. It’s been a while since I’m experimented with Shellac combos. Since the manicure was for the wedding and I hadn’t yet settled on a dress to wear, I opted for a safe choice – a natural and demure pink.
I’m pretty pleased with the result seen here, achieved with two layers of Beau topped with Moonlight & Roses. The result is a pale, iridescent pink. The demure combo is perfect for weddings or even a job interview.
*Please note: CND Shellac is a professional only product, to be applied and removed at a salon by a trained professional; I am a licensed cosmetologist.
We’ve Lost a Legend – Vidal Sassoon (1928-2012)

His name will forever be synonymous with the beauty/hair industry. Sadly, TMZ has reported that Vidal Sassoon passed away yesterday from unspecified illnesses. You can see the full report here.
Perhaps in one of the last video interviews with the legend, TMZ actually captured an impromptu conversation on ethnic hair with Vidal just last week.
