It’s kind of hard to imagine that a couple of years ago, a French manicure that remained chip-free for up to fourteen days would be just short of a miracle. If you’re new to Curls N Pearls, it wont take long to see that I’m a huge fan of CND Shellac, one of the first lines to debut a manicure product that goes “on like polish, wears like gel.” What a huge relief for women everywhere!
This week’s Mani Monday features a Shellac French manicure with Negligee for the pink shade and Studio White on the tips. An alternative for the tips with CND Shellac is Cream Puff. Personally, I find Cream Puff to be too thick (e.g. difficult to apply) and opaque. While Studio White is still quite opaque, it’s significantly easier to apply. For the pink shade, you could also try Beau, Romantique, Clearly Pink, or Moonlight & Roses. I’ve experimented with each, but Negligee remains my favorite, with Clearly Pink as a close second.
Have you tried any Shellac combos for a French manicure?
*Please note: CND Shellac is a professional only product, to be applied and removed at a salon by a trained professional; I am a licensed cosmetologist.

I tried instead of having the smile line defined, using Studio White on the entire nail covered by Negligee. Looked extremely natural and whitened up my distal nail without defining the smile line. I wanted to ask which you think is sheerer, Studio White versus OPI Funny Bunny. I wanted to try Funny Bunny next.
