Sephora Beauty Insider 500 Point Perk: Too Faced – The Naked Look Kit (Review + Photos)

If this is your first time visiting Curls N Pearls, it wont take you long to see that I’m a beauty junkie, and Sephora is one of my favorite places to feed the habit. Part of the reason I’m so drawn to Sephora is the Beauty Insider Program, where you earn points per dollar spent. But as with any loyalty program, sometimes the perks lack, and sometimes they’re great.

When I approached the checkout during a visit to Sephora this past weekend, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the 500-point perk was something I’d love to try: the Too Faced Naked Look Palette. Time to cash in!

According to Too Faced, “The ‘Naked Look’ kit contains an exclusive sampling of the most popular products from BEST-SELLING ‘How-To’ Kits!”

I’d quote the packaging further, but frankly it’s mostly fluff after this excerpt. The above statement and the name of the kit itself were all I needed to piqué my interest. A kit containing the company’s best-sellers and providing an easy-to-accomplish natural looking face sounds like a perk worthy of my 500 Beauty Insider points. (Especially after hoarding them for so long!)

Best New Makeup Palettes of Winter/Spring

If you are in the market for new eye shadow, you couldn’t have picked a better time to shop. The winter/spring 2012 season has delivered the best from some of my favorite beauty brands when it comes to value sets and palettes. Here are a select few makeup palettes I’m absolutely smitten with this winter.

p.s. This is my 100th post on Curls n Pearls! Woohoo! Thank YOU so much for reading. :)

Bliss Lemon + Sage Body Scrub

You know the feeling when you unexpectedly find a twenty-dollar bill in your pocket? That’s how I felt yesterday when I was rummaging around in my bathroom vanity and I came across a never even opened full size container of Bliss Lemon + Sage Body Scrub. It’s great to exfoliate once in a while to rid your skin of dead and dry cells, especially during the winter. In addition to giving your skin a healthy glow and velvety-soft feel, exfoliating also restores your skin’s natural ability to retain moisture.

The directions on the Bliss Lemon + Sage Body Scrub instruct you to “scrub your skin vigorously from shoulders to shins with a heaping handful” for at least five minutes BEFORE getting in the shower. I had to read that twice, that’s a little different the directions for most scrubs.

Not only does the Bliss scrub smell absolutely heavenly, but I was pleasantly surprised by its texture. When you see the word scrub, coarse granules come to mind. This is not the case with the Bliss scrub. The granules are small, gentle and not overly abrasive. What I really like about this scrub is that it’s not full of a ton of oils (like many scrubs), so you aren’t left with a greasy layer of gunk on your skin after rinsing.

I can’t believe this little treasure was lost for so long in the depths of my temple of groom!
