Nicole Richie’s Red Carpet Hair

Nicole Richie has inspired many with her hairstyles over the years – who can forget this gorgeous bob? She looked fabulous as usual at the Golden Globes, and Suave has shared how she achieved this look.

Wash hair with New Suave Professionals® Moroccan Infusion Shine Shampoo and Conditioner, and then blow dry hair using a large paddle brush.
Part hair on the side and begin curling with a one-inch barrel curling iron. Be sure to hold the curling barrel horizontal to the head.
After curling each section, use bobby pins to hold in place.
Blast hair all over with a hot dryer for 1-2 minutes to help set the curls.
Remove the bobby pins, lightly brush the hair to soften curls and finish with Suave Professionals® Touchable Finish Super Hold Hairspray.
Place 1-2 drops of the New Suave Professionals® Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil in palms and rub hands together. Avoiding the roots, gently run hands over the surface of the hair to add a radiant shine.

When it comes to cost and quality, Suave is one of my favorite beauty bargain brands for haircare. One of my all-time favorite Suave products is the Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo (see my full review here). Launched in early 2012, the Suave Keratin Infusion line is

For this post I decided to test drive the Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Smooth & Shine Serum ($2.87-$3.49 for a 2 oz bottle). Here’s what Suave has to say about the serum:

Designed for frizzy and unmanageable hair, I wasn’t sure if this serum would be too heavy for my (relatively) normal hair. But since I have highlighted hair, I often use serums as a part of my routine to add shine and improve the appearance of the ends. Fortunately, the serum is not at all too heavy! The directions say to “disperse 2-3 pumps into palms” – I started with just two pumps to play it safe, but ended up using 3, which was perfect for my shoulder length hair. Note: I didn’t try the serum on dry hair, but just because of personal preference.

With a pleasant scent and silky texture, the serum is very easy to work through damp hair. Using a large round brush I was able to achieve a voluminous, but smooth and healthy looking blowout. Fast forward to day two, and my blowout held up nicely! Only one place – a small section near the ends – ended up losing some of the smooth and shiny appearance. I’m not sure if this was due to user error or otherwise, but a quick touch-up with a round brush and blowdryer smoothed things out (no pun intended).

Overall, the Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Smooth & Shine Serum lives up to its name. And at under $3.50 for a 2 oz bottle, this beauty bargain is definitely worth trying.
